Introduction

We are working to ensure that the Arts Atlantic Symposium is as safe, inclusive, and accessible as possible, and we are committed to implementing the policies listed below.

Please note that ArtsLink NB is a non-profit organization with limited funding; we acknowledge that this is an incomplete list and will continue to work to increase and improve accessibility. We welcome you to contact us at symposium@artslinknb.com with comments, suggestions, or questions.

Covid-19 Policy

We acknowledge that COVID-19 is an ongoing issue. For the wellbeing of any AAS artists, presenters, or participants who may be chronically ill or immunocompromised, we will require masking at all indoor AAS events. Signage will be posted at all AAS venues indicating this policy. We thank you in advance for your support in practicing community care and recognizing our collective responsibility for community safety and wellbeing.

  • Masks will be available for free at all AAS events.

  • We will be working with our venue partners to keep windows and doors open as much as possible.

  • Some of our AAS events will be catered (these will be noted in the schedule). For catered events, masks may be removed while seated.

  • Presenters and artists may remove their masks when speaking, presenting, or participating in panel discussions. We will work to ensure physical distancing between presenters and between presenters and audience.

  • If you are feeling ill or exhibiting Covid-19 symptoms, please remain home to help protect the health of our community.

If the Public Health guidelines change in advance of our event, all registered delegates will be notified by email. For more information, please visit the Province of New Brunswick Coronavirus/Covid-19 health & safety page.

General Accessibility

We are committed to holding AAS events at venues that are physically accessible with gender-neutral washrooms. Detailed accessibility information on each venue will be available on our website and in our AAS program (print and digital).

If an artist, presenter, or registrant requires ASL interpretation, we invite you to notify us at symposium@artslinknb.com and we will work to provide ASL support at as many AAS events as possible.

Financial Accessibility

ArtsLink NB is committed to ensuring that its programming is financially accessible for its members. We would like to remove (as much as possible) financial barriers for individual artists or collectives to participate in the Arts Atlantic Symposium. We are pleased to offer a limited number of AAS tickets at a 70% discount for independent professional artists or artists requiring financial support.

Who is eligible for the Artist Scholarship Admission ticket?

  • Independent professional artists or members of small-scale artist collectives who are attending the Symposium to represent their own practice

  • Independent professional artists or members of small-scale artist collectives who will not have Symposium tickets purchased for them by a larger organization, business, or institution

  • Independent professional artists or members of small-scale artist collectives requiring financial assistance

Artist Scholarship Admission: $65 (regular price: $225)

Registrants who purchase an AAS ticket at the Artist Scholarship Admission rate certify that they meet the listed eligibility criteria.

We encourage delegates to apply for professional development funding through Canada Council for the Arts or provincial counterparts.
